Sapienza, John “Sabo” Joseph A GIANT of a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law and friend passed away Monday, November 27, 2017. A beloved man is gone, and we mourn. We were all blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him. Most important was to spend time with his family. His life was a life well lived. He fought hard to take care of his family. Sabo was always quick with a joke and most passionate about his loved ones.
He touched many peoples lives….
Husband to Judith (Dunphy) Sapienza – 57 years; father of 6 children – Michelle and Steve Potts, Jeanne’ and John Prinz, Jon Patrick and Robin Sapienza, Cheryl and Mike Welshimer, Sean Michael Sapienza, Tori and Nathan Conroy; grandfather to 19 – Callie, Taylor Shae, McCauley, Salvatore, and Paddy Potts, Contessa, Giovanni, Marcello, Elizabeth, Sarah and Katie Prinz, Joshua and Megan Sapienza, Cecelia Welshimer, Savannah and Lilia Sapienza, Sawyer, Sebastian, and Crew Conroy; brother to 3 – Connie Falsetti, Virginia Grise, Marianne Wehrle; brother-in-law to – Joan and Fred Stecher, Jim and Jan Dunphy, Joel and Kathy Dunphy, Janet and Carl Ehrlich, and Teresa Dunphy; uncle to 22 nieces and nephews…
John worked for the State of Missouri Disability Determinations as an Appeals Supervisor. After retiring, he took pride in serving as President of Disability Assistance Company. He was a CBC Alum, a coach to his childrens sports teams, and a Korean War Veteran. He truly relished the friends he made with his Grants Farm family during retirement.
You are so loved and our hearts break.

Services: Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 30, from 3-8 pm at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton, 10151 Gravois Rd. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Providence Church on Friday, December 1 at 9:30 am. Burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
