Schaetzel

In Loving Memory

Schaetzel, Wayne Roland

Left to be with God Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the age of 84. For 62 years he was the devoted husband of Marlene (Lamm) Schaetzel.  He was the loving father of Terri (Dean) Sullivan, the late Stephen Schaetzel, and Mark (Liz) Schaetzel.  Wayne was the proud grandfather (or Pa-Head) of five grandchildren: Cheryl (Rob) Mueller, Julie Sullivan, Stevi Schaetzel, Mo Schaetzel, and Spencer Schaetzel; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Mueller and Mallory Mueller.

Wayne had a fulfilling career as a Senior Project Engineering at Moog Automotive, now Federal Mogul, and taught engineering courses at night at his alma mater Washington University. He was also a proud member of the Air Force Reserves.

Wayne loved music and spread his passion to his family through countless piano lessons to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also coached his children’s athletic teams, including basketball, softball, and baseball.  His personal and business travel brought him and Marlene wonderful memories from near and far.
