Most beloved husband for 69 years to Adele (nee Nelson); loving son of the late Steve and Elizabeth (Seper) Schaffer; brother of the late Steve  (Dorothy) Schaffer; cherished father of Kathleen (Neil)  Schlichting, William (Laura) Schaffer and Diane Schaffer; grandfather of Uriah (the late Rachael) Schaffer, Timothy (Heather), Brian  (Melissa) and Daniel Schlichting; great-grandpa of Paige, Chase, Ryan, Carter and Camden Schlichting; dear uncle of Mike, the late Stevie, Mark, Paul and Janet; our dear great-uncle, cousin and friend to all.

He was a WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. His  passion and enjoyment were for the St. Louis Cardinals, his vast knowledge of baseball and Cardinal’s history. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Backstoppers, Wounded  Warrior Project, Cardinals Care or charity of your choice.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois,  Wednesday, September 20, 10:00 a.m. Interment  Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 4-8 p.m.
