It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Roy Schmidt, 93, of St. Louis, MO. Art passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on March 31, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Art was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, MO. He was Korean War Veteran and owned and operated his family business, Schmidt Equipment and Supply, Inc. from 1954 until his retirement in 1994. The business is still operated by his son and three grandchildren.
Art was an amateur magician, enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking, and writing poetry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Margaret (1933-2020). He is survived by his son Dale (Patti), his son Craig (Jennifer), his daughter Carla (Jimmie) Wantuck, nine grandchildren (Jenna, Albert, Tamara, Melissa, Andrea, Anna Rose, Elizabeth, Kathleen, Natalie) and four great-grandchildren (Noah Arthur, Madeline, Mason, Parker).
Arthur was truly a great and honorable man and will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Services: A memorial mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, 4900 Ringer Road, on Wednesday, April 23, 10:00 am. Inurnment with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

You have my sympathy on the loss of Art. Our group goes back to his meeting Marge and getting married. We stayed friends until it became apparent that as elders we could not meet anymore. It was a great group with Art providing us with many hours of entertainment. He is sorely missed. Again my sympathies to the family

I just now learned about Art’s passing. I’m so sorry to hear this. I knew Art for many years and always enjoyed speaking with him. He definitely had a wonderful sense of humor. Pretty darn good Magician as well!
