(Nee Jokisch), fortified with the sacraments of holy mother church, Jeanette died Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of Leo J. Schneider, Jr. for 70 years; loving mother of Christine Mary (Fred G.) Amad, Lee J. Schneider, Jean Marie (Louis A.) Criso, Sr., and Lynn Marie (Michael J.) Broderick.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great, great aunt, and friend to many.
Jeanette was born on January 20, 1930, and attended Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church and elementary school. She worked in her father’s grocery store and later as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She met the love of her life, Leo, when she was 19 years old. Later, the two married and had four beautiful children. Jeanette devoted her life to raising her children, being a great homemaker, and being a wonderful wife to Leo. Jeanette loved traveling with Leo throughout the US and enjoying many cruises to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, the Mediterranean, and more.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her father, George Jokisch, Sr., her mother, Cecilia Jokisch (nee Liermann), her father-in-law, Leo J. Schneider, Sr., mother-in-law, Alvina A. Schneider (nee Luepker), stepmother-in-law, Matilda Schneider, sister Celeste Ottoline (née Jokisch), twin sister Janice Menendez (nee Jokisch), sisters-in-law, Virginia Jokisch, Alvira (Stanley) Kilfoyle (nee Schneider), Marian (Robert) Spinn (nee Schneider), brothers-in-law, James Menendez, George Ottoline, Edward Federhofer, stepbrother-in-law, Richard (Audrey) Avetta, and her nephew, Thomas Menendez.
She is survived by her husband Leo J. Schneider, Jr.; children, Christine M. (Fred G.) Amad, Lee J. Schneider, Jean M. (Louis A.) Criso, Sr., Lynn M. (Michael J.) Broderick; grandchildren, Frederick C. Amad, Christian F. (Tracie R.) Amad, Adam L. (Abbie) Schneider, Ryan C. Schneider, Daniel A. (Melissa) Schneider, Louis A. Criso, Jr., Ashley M. Criso, Alexis M. Criso, Valerie M. Broderick, and Anthony M. Broderick; and great-grandchildren, Ava E. Amad, Samuel F. Amad, Frederick K. Amad, Grace E. Amad, Sloan S. Schneider, and Logan E. Schneider; brother, George Jokisch, Jr., sister, Virginia Federhofer, and brother-in law, Gerald F. (Mary) Schneider.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd., Thursday, April 28 from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral Mass and interment will be private.
