Schulze, Mildred L. (Millie) (nee Winn) passed away peacefully April 30th, 2017 at the age of 92.
Millie was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ.
Millie married Albert H. Schulze, the love of her life, in 1944. They met at Roosevelt High School when she was 16 and he was 17. It was love at first sight and they were inseparable until Al’s death in December of 1996. Together they loved to travel and entertain friends and family as often as possible.
Millie and her husband owned and operated Schulze’s Pastry Shop. Millie’s career also included several years at Schollen Brothers Printing and Tesson Heights, where she enjoyed talking to the residents and helping whenever she could.
Although she loved working outside the home, her true passion was her husband and 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls, and eventually many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Millie loved to talk about her family and would tell endless stories to anyone who would listen.
Millie loved music and dancing, reading mysteries, politics, St. Louis Cardinals and above all family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by husband Albert and son William (Bill).
She is survived by children, Albert (Sonny), Carl (Corky), Rick, Tim, Danny, Heidi, Sally and spouses Barbara, Phyllis, Debbie, Wilma, Chris and Suzanne. Grandchildren Brian, Chrissy, Gus, Toby, Gretchen, Lisa, Derek, Max, Rachel, Tim, Ryan, Megan, Elizabeth, Marissa, Samantha, and Erika. Also great grandchildren AJ, Skylar, William, Henry, Hunter, Kaela, Trenton, DJ, Devin, Greyson, Layla, Knox, Sammy and Colton.
Millie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and so much more to so many that loved her. Millie touched countless lives with her generosity, kind nature and her smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service is scheduled for May 17th, at 11:00, at St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 11735 Denny Road, St. Louis, MO 63126. A luncheon will be available immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Millie’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to St. Lucas UCC or donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Millie’s memory. Interment will be private.
