Marvin Schweikert
March 7, 1937 – June 11, 2025
Marvin Schweikert, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on June 11, 2015. Born on March 7, 1937, Marvin was the cherished son of Christian (Christ) and Marie Schweikert, both deceased.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Janice, and his dear sister, Lorraine Dunville. Marvin is survived by his brother Norman and his wife Joanne, who will forever treasure their shared memories and enduring bond.
Marvin’s legacy lives on through his three children: Jeff Schweikert and his wife Betty, Eric (Rick) Schweikert and his wife Wendy, and Suzy Rapp. His love extended to his cherished grandchildren: Tosha Billingham and her husband Mike, Eric Schweikert, Justin Schweikert and his wife Brooke, Zoe Schweikert and Presley Bancroft, Christian Schweikert and Lucas Shields, and Nico Schweikert and his wife Serenity. He was also blessed to know his great-grandchildren Jacob, Brandon, and Isabelle.
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the late 1950s and early 1960s, where he honed his skills as a mechanic—a talent that would define much of his professional life. Following his military service, he channeled his mechanical expertise into entrepreneurship, owning and operating multiple service stations in South St. Louis and Kirkwood. His dedication to his customers and community made him a trusted figure in the automotive industry for many years.
In his 50s, Marvin embraced a new chapter in his career, becoming the head custodian at Affton High School. His work ethic and commitment to excellence continued to shine as he served the school community for nearly three decades, retiring at the age of 78. Students, faculty, and staff knew him as a dependable presence who took pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for learning.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marvin was a man of many passions. He found great satisfaction in working on cars, a skill that never left him throughout his life. He loved camping and exploring the country in his RV, creating countless memories with family and friends.
Marvin’s life was marked by his strong work ethic, and ability to find joy in both simple pleasures and adventures.
Visitation Monday, June 16, 10:30 a.m. until service 12:00 p.m. NOON at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Missouri Baptist Medical Center St. Louis or MD Anderson Cancer Center: Cancer Treatment & Cancer Research Hospital, both who were instrumental in providing exceptional care in the past several years.
I was the Library Assistant for 24 years at Affton High School. Marvin took excellent care of the Library. I would make a Rhubarb Pie each year for him to show our appreciation. He was a good man. Thanks Marvin.
