In Loving Memory

Seise, Arthur “Art” Anthony

January 9, 1938 - April 4, 2025

Baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection, beloved husband of 66 years to Elizabeth Ann (Liz) Stangler Seise. Dear father of Julie (Jeff) Hovey, Ken (Lynn) Seise, Beth (Jeff) Collins, and Laura (Henry) Goff, grandfather of Kate (Dustin) Levine, Andrew Hovey, Megan (Alex) Stubblefield, Mary Seise, and Rachel Goff. Great-grandfather of Caden, Kennedy, and Everly. Beloved brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.

Art was an avid sailor. Whether on his boat at Lake Carlyle or in the Caribbean, Art was in his element in the cockpit of a sailboat. He was an entrepreneur. His first venture was The Trash Men, Inc., a commercial trash hauling business, which he sold in 1983. In 1985, he founded Building Butlers, Inc., a commercial janitorial business which is still in operation.

Art made friends everywhere he went. Whether as a resident at Friendship Village, at his homes in St. Louis and Vero Beach, FL, Boulder Yacht Club, his years of coaching hockey, or president of the Affton School Board, he made lifelong friendships.

SERVICES: Visitation Friday, Apr. 11, 4-8 PM, memorial service Saturday, Apr. 12, 10:30 AM at Kutis Affton Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Humane Society of Missouri or ASPCA are appreciated.

  4. Mrs. Seise, my deepest condolences! I never saw you two apart from each other. Always supporting others. Always happy! You had a great partner for many, many years to celebrate. I can only remember fun times with you two: weddings, baby showers, costume parties. What a treat for me to know you.
Julie, my special best friend for all time! Losing a dad is just heart-piercing. You have many amazing memories which you will never lose. You probably have attributes which you know are from your Dad. Live that life happy and I think that’s a living memorial to him.
