In Loving Memory

Seyer, Robert George “Bob” Sr.

Seyer, Robert George, “Bob” Sr.

Bob Seyer, born April 27th, 1931, age 89 of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish, Oakville, MO passed away peacefully on February 5th.   Survived by his Wife of 62 years, Mrs. Anne (Fenton) Seyer, 8 children: Bob (Debbie) Seyer, Annette Seyer (Robert Jekel; deceased), Nina Foshe (Kevin), Ben Seyer, Geni Metzger (Mark), Chuck Seyer (Jennifer), Rusty Seyer (Karen), Kay Westrich (Dave) and 21 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren.

Bob graduated Highschool in Chaffee MO and served in the 10th Mountain Division in Austria during the Korean War.  He returned to the US to work in various building trades until settling into a long career as Field Superintendent with St. Louis Count Sewer Company.

He is remembered for his sense of humor, his unfailing generosity, his love of family and children. He was always humbly ready to give a hand for what ever was needed without any expectation of recognition or for something in return.  He was a great husband and father, with a lifetime of activity in Scouting, conservation and outdoor activities which became his platform to impart wisdom and guidance to many youth who are now raising their own families.

Services: visitation before Mass at St. Margaret Mary Alaqoque Catholic Church: 9:00 AM Friday, February 12th with Mass to follow at 10:00 and immediate departure to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for burial with full military honors.  The Funeral Mass will be live streamed from the Church website at https://smmaparish.org/

In lieu of flowers the family request donation be sent in his name to either World Bird Sanctuary, 125 Bald Eagle Rd. Valley Park, MO 63088 or St. Louis Community Foundation, #2 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton MO 63105 “in Memory of Robert Seyer”.  In both cases, funds will go to furthering environmental conservation in Dad’s Name. A Kutis South County service.

  5. Much love and virtual hugs to you all. Uncle Bob will be remembered as a gentle, loving soul who was also lots of fun. I remember fondly how he used to tease and have fun with my mom, his little sister. We all loved hearing the stories of their shenanigans growing up.

  13. Sorry to read about this loss. Mr.Seyer taught me many skills I still use and think of him when I do. He taught me how to paddle, load and tie down a canoe. He taught me how to cut, split and stack a cord of wood. Bob was always there to help you do it right and did so with great patience and understanding. He will be missed. A great husband, father and mentor to many.
