Shaw, Jerome P. Sr. “Jerry” 84, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Wed. June 21, 2017 following a long battle from the complications of diabetes. Beloved husband of Lenette H. Shaw (nee Campbell) for 64 years, dearest father of Jerome Jr. “Jerry” (Cindy), Cary (Charlotte), Keith (Mary), Stephanie and Scott (Kathryn) Shaw, loving grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 12; dear brother of Marceline (the late Fred) Sanders, Cecelia (Jim) English, Eugene (the late Terri) and the late David (Floris surviving) Shaw, dear brother-in-law of Brian (Debbie) Campbell; our dear uncle, cousin and friend. Born September 23, 1932 to Douglas & Antoinette Shaw. He grew up in Ferguson, MO attended St. John & James. In 1950 at 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He attained the rank of Staff Sargent in the U.S. Infantry 7th Division, 32nd Infantry, Company H. His courage & sound judgment earned him the respect/confidence of his men. Through his keen knowledge & superior leadership his squad successfully completed their missions earning several accommodations. Jerry returned home ’52 met/married Lenette Campbell in ’53. They loved, laughed, worked, and played for 64 years to provide a wonderful life for their family. After 35+ years at Mercantile Bank he retired as a Senior Vice-President then moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. Jerry’s passions included: wife/family, faith, and building/flying radio-control airplanes.
Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Wed., June 28, 9:30 a.m. to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jerry & Lenette Shaw’s name. Visitation Tues., 4-8 p.m.
