Mike and I were saddened to learn of Kathy’s passing. She was the sweetest person, just like her parents and brother. Dear neighbors on Tyrolean for many years. She is now with her Saviour in heaven. There to welcome her are her parents and dear husband Michael. Deepest condolences to Ryan Sheehan and Melvin Jr. Dechau and extended family.

I was so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. She and I worked together at AT&T, although we were in different groups. She was always so even tempered and positive. Such a loss.

Kathy and I first met at Kennard School – some 60+ years ago. We both attended Holy Ghost Church and shared many activities. She had the sweetest personality, graciously accepted whatever was thrown in her path, and was a wonderful, caring person. Who else, but Kathy, would play tennis or attend the Muny with me on those hot, humid summer days? Only a true friend!
After moving to Canada, we emailed each other and would get together on STL visits – bringing me up to date on her family’s activities and reliving the “olden days”. I will miss my longtime friend so much.

I got to know Kathy over 50 years ago when we both belonged to Job’s Daughters. We became good friends and her brother Melvin at that time was around 9 years old. I had a barbecue at our house and we asked Melvin to come over with Kathy. Melvin was the entertainment for the afternoon. He put on a magic show for everyone. We all had a great time! I knew her mom, dad, brother, and in later years her husband, Michael and her talented son, Ryan. All great people! Kathy was a sincere genuine friend and I will miss her greatly. She will be missed by one and all.
