It is with deep sorrow and hopeful faith that we announce the passing of Mona Mae Sliger (née Starkey), a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 93. She had an unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and love she poured into every family member. A devoted follower of Christ, she lived a life rooted in grace. She is survived by her daughters Judy (Don) Morehead, Connie (Scott) Goodrich, Brenda (Dean) Morton. Loving and devoted grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude. She is reunited with her Savior, where we will one day be together. She was preceded in death by her last husband of 59 years Billy Ray “Bill” Sliger, Steve Sliger, Timothy Sliger, and great-grandson Phillip Steven Jett.
Visitation is scheduled on Wednesday September 2, 2026, at 10 AM and a funeral service starting at 11 AM at Parkton Assembly of God Church, 1670 Old Hwy. M in Barnhart. Burial will be at the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
