Diana L. Smith, 72, of Fenton, Missouri, left this world peacefully on October 12, 2025, reunited with the love of her life, Ronald L. Smith.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 20, 1953, to Joseph O. Elliott and Mary G. Elliott (nee Kotalik), Diana lived her life with laughter, quick wit, and a spark that could light up any room. She had a knack for finding joy in life’s simple pleasures — whether it was looking for the perfect knickknack at garage sales, trying her luck at Keno or the casino, or enjoying life’s little indulgences and always finding a way to justify them as “healthy”. She was happiest surrounded by family, sharing stories, laughter, and maybe a little more mischief than she would admit.
Diana was a woman of faith, finding strength and joy in her relationship with God, in prayer, and in the guidance of the church. Her faith was a quiet but steady light in her life, shaping her love, her laughter, and her care for those around her.
Diana is lovingly remembered by her three daughters — Lisa (David) Harris, Trisa Chapman, and Nikole (Aaron) Adams. She was the proud grandmother of Victoria (nee Smith) Rybialek (Peter), Kellie (Ryan) James, David Harris II (Madison), Ryan & Jordynn Adams, Jessica Harris (Jake Charles); five great-grandchildren: Henry & Charles Rybialek, Payton Ross, and Zeke Charles and baby James, each of whom brought her endless joy and laughter. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were her sunshine and her laughter, and she made sure they all knew just how loved — and just how spoiled — they were. Additionally, Diana is survived by her dearest sister Lora (Jeff) Taylor and dearest brother Joseph B. Elliott; she was especially fond of her dear friend and caretaker during her final years, Aida Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary “Starr” Howard, and her closest cousin Jeannie Hieger, along with many dear friends and loved ones who welcomed her home with open arms — surely greeted with love, laughter, and a few inside jokes.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 8, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Andre’s South 4254 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63129, where stories, laughter, and love are encouraged — just the way she would have wanted.
Service of Kutis South County Chapel.
