I called him “Mr. Smith” He wasn’t crazy about it at first because it meant he was a little older than I am. But after a while it became a term of endearment. He even signed my Christmas card that way.
I loved visiting with him and listening to his many stories. He loved to try new recipes. He would save the “Let’s Eat” section from the paper for me. He would say “ this looks good, we should try it”.We made a few. When I would talk about how good he was to everyone he would say”I do what I can with what I have” And that is exactly what he did. He shared his kindness and generosity with all who knew him. He died as he lived- everybody’s Friend. Rest In Peace, “Mr. Smith”♥️

The 11th Apostle to go. I know the first 10 we’re delighted to have him back at their table. Jim was a sweetheart and will be missed. He always had a kind word and a hug when I brought dad to the first Friday lunches. So many wonderful memories. I’ll cherish them always.

Though our time knowing each other was brief, it was such a joy to get to know Jim. We moved into the subdivision from our of state this year and we got to know him from walking on the trail with our boys and dogs. And recently we works run into one another on nice days when we was strolling down the trail. I would be in my backyard drinking wine, playing with my dogs most of the time. Then we recently exchanged phone numbers and started staying in touch that way. I got a nice visit with him a couple weeks ago and that’s when he told me his health was failing and that “we just met at the wrong time”. He was a wonderful kind hearted friend and neighbor and he will be missed. ❤️

I offer my deepest condolences to Jimmie’s family. Jimmie and I became close friends about 2 years ago when I started visiting him twice a week through the Sick snd Elderly program. Jimmie took all his maladies with the grain of salt, never feeling sorry for himself and without complaint. His attitude was an inspiration to me. We spent our time talking about his beautiful family and also stories from long ago, in fact we talked about everything under the Sun.
Jimmy embraced life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
I have been blessed to have this wonderful man in my life, though the time was too short.
May he Rest In Peace, the world is a bit dimmer with Jimmie’s passing. He will be greatly missed!
