Dear brother of Victoria (Al) Delchamps. Dear uncle of Joshua (Jenn) Knierim and Matthew (Lauren) Knierim. Our dear son-in-law, brother-in-law, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Friday December 19, 10:00 am until service at 12:00 noon. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Eric was the president of Three Rivers Archaeological Society. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Missouri Archaeological Society appreciated.
Eric was a respected avocational archaeologist, among his other accomplishments. He served as president of the Three Rivers Archaeological Society from 2006 to 2025 and led many projects which contributed to the knowledge of Missouri’s prehistoric past. He was a pioneer in learning about the atlatl (primitive spear thrower) and was one of the first in Missouri to use one to harvest a deer in the past 1000 years. His friendly way introduced many people to the importance of preserving prehistoric artifacts and information. He was a nice person who will be truly missed.
My sincere condolences. He was a friendly, faithful archaeological spirit and did everything he could to keep 3Rivers going.
He is with Laura now whom we all missed and they are together meeting the civilizations he was researching on earth. May their souls rest in peace!
