Spinzig, Robert C.

of St. Louis, MO passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 87. Bob was born on November 29, 1934, to the late Harvey and Muriel Spinzig; and the beloved big brother to the late Audrey Meyer (nee Spinzig).

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mavis Spinzig (nee Paglusch). He was the proud father of Brian Spinzig (Victoria), Bruce Spinzig (Waynette), Brenda Spinzig and Beverly Shannon (Shawn); adored grandfather of Melissa Hoormann (Daniel), Jessica Marischen (Thomas), Angela Spinzig (Randi), Jennifer Minton (Jeremiah), Kyle Leininger, Mark Leininger, Kevin Shannon, Colin Shannon and Matthew Shannon; dear great-grandfather of Andrew Hoormann, William Hoormann, Katelyn Hoormann, Agnes Marischen, Cecilia Marischen, Robert Minton, Conner Minton, Gavin Minton and Elijah Minton; dear friend of many.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Washington University and his Graduate Degree from the Institute of Financial Education. Bob was employed for over 38 years at Public Service Bank, fsb, culminating his career as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. Bob served as a member of the Public Policy Committee for the RCGA, of which he was a past president and also served as a member of the Executive Committee for Small Business. He chaired state and local industry organizations, was past Board Member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines and served on the St. Louis City Private Industry Council as a Board Member and Chairman.

Bob served as President of Norwood Hills Country Club where he and his wife, Mavis, were active in golf and attended many social events with friends and family. Additionally, Bob was a member of the Western Seniors Golf Association, and of the Missouri Athletic Club where he played handball and sang in the Apollos Men’s singing group.

A memorial mass will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Road, St. Louis, MO, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation/Respects are welcome beginning at 10:00 a.m. Internment at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the service, we respectfully request family only.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity during this difficult time. You never realize how many lives you touch until your life is touched in return.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
