In Loving Memory

Stahl, Dorothy Angela Barbaglia

July 1, 1938 – May 18, 2026

With heavy hearts we share that Dorothy “Dot” Angela Barbaglia Stahl departed this life on May 18, 2026, surrounded in the spirit and presence of family and friends, humbly waiting her heavenly destination with Christ.

Dorothy was born to the late James and Bernice Barbaglia on the Hill in St. Louis on July 1, 1938. She attended Southwest High School and had a wonderful time in high school with numerous activities including prom queen. She continued her education at Harris-Stowe State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and later attained a Master’s at Webster University to improve her educational skills. At Harris-Stowe, she met her future husband Raymond Stahl, a wonderful caring man who treasured her, and with whom she created a spirit-filled, generous, and loving life. Dorothy and Ray were married on January 21, 1961 and recently celebrated 65 beautiful years together setting the example of how a loving couple should live.

Dorothy was a great mother and instilled excellence to her three children. She was also an exceptional Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, truly enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After her children were established in school she had a career as a teacher and then Asst. Principal in private schools, including a long run at Life Christian School. She was admired by students, parents, and faculty as an excellent and disciplined educator.

She enjoyed traveling with Ray and family on trips to the National Parks and other locations in the United States. Dorothy really enjoyed trips to Florida including an annual pilgrimage to Pensacola with family and friends.

Dorothy was a spiritual prayer warrior. Her love and devotion to God was evident and passed down to the generations to her children, grandchildren, siblings, and greater family to have a relationship with Christ. She shared a focus on spreading Christ to others, enjoying a reminder of how blessed we are, and to live a Christ centered life. Dorothy enjoyed prayer group meetings with music where Ray played his guitar for family and friends.

Dorothy will always be remembered for her love of God, and desire to bring others to Christ. She lived a life devoted to her husband, family, and friends. Her love for others was exemplified by the welcoming smile on her face and wave to others that drew people to her. Dorothy will be truly missed by all who knew her, and we remain confident God quickly welcomed her to Heaven with, “well done my good and faithful servant.”

Dorothy was a loving mother to Brian (Margaret) Stahl, the late Christopher (Mary) Stahl and Anastasia (Craig) Miller. She will be forever loved by her 13 grandchildren, Amanda Stahl, Cameron (Kaitlin) Stahl, Nicholas A. (Lauren) Stahl, Hannah (Matthew) Canestrari, Sarah (Tom) Rapisardo, Emily Stahl, Anna Stahl, Christopher (Antoinette) Stahl, Nicholas R. Stahl, Shayla (Taylor) Piccinich, Nathan Sonntag, Shawna Sonntag and Carissa Sonntag, and 9 great-grandchildren, Roman, Finn, Elizabeth, Eliphalet, Vivienne, Milabelle, Emma, Weston and Isla. Dorothy was a beloved sister to her siblings, Tom (Lourdes) Barbaglia, Theresa (Terry) Beckmeyer and the late Sandra (Paul) Dino, plus the late sister-in-laws Kathleen (Elmer) Kowal and late Norma (John) Combest, and brother- in-law, the late Robert (Peggy) Stahl.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy’s life with services on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Life Christian Church in Fenton, Missouri. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 noon.
