  17. I was so saddened to hear today of Katie’s passing. I worked with her as a fellow special educator at North Jefferson Intermediate School when she began her teaching career. She was indeed a “special” educator with a real love for her students and all who were blessed to work with her. She was a gifted teacher and such a lovely person. I loved seeing pictures of her beautiful family on FB. Rodney, Jerry, Jody, and family will all be in my prayers in the days ahead.

  21. Jerry and Jodi, How I remember Katie! She was such a sweet and special girl. I always looked forward to Katie getting in the van when we did carpool at SMMA for all those years. I enjoyed doing crafts and making jewelry with her. We had so much fun together at those times. She always held a special place in my heart. I loved hearing about how she was growing into a beautiful young woman and then becoming a wife and mother, when I would by chance see you at the store or up at church. I was saddened when I heard she was sick several years ago but then so glad to see she was doing better and on the road to healing. When Msgr. Norb told us that she was in the hospital my heart sank. I prayed to Our Lord that He would bring her peace and comfort. I will continue to pray that you both and your son-in-law find solace in knowing that Katie is finding peace and comfort in the arms of Our God. Continued prayers for your family, Kitty and Don Brighton

  31. Jerry & Jody,

Our hearts are broken. Katie was in my prayers each and every day since you first told me about her cancer. There are no words that can express how saddened Susan and I are for your loss. You and I last talked at your retirement and I remember how happy you were to start your next chapter with your family. The love in your heart was truly inspirational. Love, after all, is the greatest gift of all. Know that Katie, Jody, you and the rest of the family always have Susan and my love.
