Michael passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 22, 2025. He lived a life rich with laughter, generosity, and devotion, leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, where he learned discipline, loyalty, and resilience: qualities that defined his life. Fiercely protective of his family, he carried himself with quiet strength and an unwavering commitment to those he loved most. He was a man who showed up, whether with a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or a well-timed joke to brighten the room.
Above all, Michael was a family man. He was the proud and devoted father of Kyndall (Bryan) Downey, Ian (Brittany) Suire, and Hannah (Jason) Petersen. He embraced his role as “Grandpa Terk” with boundless joy and was a constant source of fun, wisdom, and unconditional love to his grandchildren Beckett, Riley, Meredith, Laurel, Theodore, and Eden. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and his eyes lit up whenever he talked about them.
He was the beloved son of Vickie Turley and a loving brother to Mark (Jenny) Suire, Christopher (Erin) Turley, Jeff Suire, Tracey Suire, and the late Timothy Turley. Michael was also a treasured uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend. His warmth, humor, and kindness built lifelong connections, and he had a way of making everyone feel seen, supported, and loved.
Michael had a gift for bringing laughter, warmth, and light into every room he entered. Though he is no longer with us, his stories, jokes, and love will continue to make us smile and remind us of the joy he shared so freely.
Funeral services will be held at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., on Monday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00–8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Michael by supporting your local animal shelter, reflecting his lifelong love and compassion for animals.
