In Loving Memory

Sutton, Gary Lee Sr.

Gary Lee Sutton Sr. of Imperial, MO passed away into God’s graces on September 24th, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born in Gary, Indiana on December 6th, 1948 to the late Marie Sutton (nee Wisehart) and the late Everett Lee Sutton who later married Lois Sutton who became a second mother to him. He is survived by many loving individuals including his wife Patricia A. Sutton; brother to Dana Sutton and Tanya (Mike) Miller who enjoyed many travel adventures together. Father of Gary Lee (Amanda) Sutton, Jr and Teri (Klaus) Harre; Stepfather to Candace Myers; grandfather of Matthew Creeley, Maleigh Stewart, Garrett Sutton, Jacob Myers and Zac Myers. He also leaves behind his furry sidekick, Bella.
Gary spent his early years in Myrtle, MO with his extended family enjoying life on the family farm. He worked many years for and retired from The Teamsters Union in St. Louis, MO. As a young man and adult, he gave his time and talents to help others and the church. He also enjoyed multiple fishing trips with friends and family. Faithfully devoted to the Free Will Baptist Church and the O’Fallon First Free Will Baptist Church. Gary will be greatly missed by many family members, extended family, and lifelong friends.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 9th with a visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. with a short service immediately after at the First Free Will Baptist Church in O’Fallon, MO. His remains will be interred at the Sutton family cemetery in Pocahontas, AR at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church at 814 South Woodlawn Ave., O’Fallon, MO 63366.

  3. We are saddened by Gary’s passing. He was larger than life and will leave a giant hole. We have the hope of knowing he and Dad are having the best reunion. Heaven just became even sweeter. Thank you to Pat, Candy, Gary Lee, and Amanda for the calls and updates. We love each of you and are praying for you to feel God’s peace and comfort.
