Sweeney, John Orville Jr.

82, of St. Louis County passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darline (Reil) Sweeney; four children jeff, Curtis (Susan), Kathy (Steve) Holt, and Renee (Todd) Ganley; and six grandchildren Dylan, Jenna, Savanna, Caleb, Drew, and Abby.  He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Ruth Sweeney, Linda Heiney, and James Holt.

He was born in Festus, but spent most of his life in St. Louis, Missouri.  Growing up, his family lived near Soulard where all of the cousins went to school together.  They would spend the weekends together back on the farm.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, stock cars, and taught ballroom dance because he loved to dance.  He was in the Army and got to travel across Europe while serving.  He started his own business, J & S Auto Parts and Salvage Inc.  He enjoyed old western shows, being outside, and spending time with his wife and family.

SERVICES:  Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road on Thursday, February 17, 10:00 a.m. until funeral service at 12:00 noon.  Interment Sunset Cemetery.
