In Loving Memory

Sweeten, Martha Ann

Martha Ann Sweeten (née Richardson) of Fenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Sweeten for 63 years; devoted mother of Lindsay (Tim) Cronin and Melissa (Jeff) Taylor; cherished grandmother of Zach (Jamie), Patrick, Ashlee, Conor, and Brady — the light of her life. Loved by her brother, John Richardson. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Gracie, her loyal companion and watchful friend.

Martha was born on September 8, 1937, in Webb City, Missouri, to the late Leland and Betty Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dr. David Richardson, and sister, Mary Sue Swanson. She married Bob on August 3, 1962, and together they built a loving home and shared a life of adventure, living in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas before settling into retirement.

Martha’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, her generous spirit, and her devotion to serving others, especially those in need. She found joy in caring for her pets and comfort in her faith. She had a lifelong fondness for angels and butterflies, symbols of hope and grace that reflected her own gentle heart.

Her family and friends will remember her kindness, her quiet strength, and her smile. You were a “good girl,” and you may now rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.

Martha’s family is forever grateful for those who cared for her, especially Dr. James Grimes, Solstice Senior Living, Simply Homecare, and Dover Health.
