April 23, 1935 - June 11, 2025

Dear husband of the late Lurline Swehla; dear father of Bob Swehla (LuAnn), Dan Swehla (Sherry), Rick Tanner (Valerie), Lynn Ott (Thomas), and Laura Rector; beloved grandfather of Kirby Ott (Elizabeth), Whitney Manda (Jay), Casey Ott (Erica ), Shelby Wisniewski (Kyle), Damian Stewart (Belle), Turner Brutcher, Claire Swehla, and Adam Swehla; dear great grandfather of Etta Kate, Matilda, Margaret, Trudy, Gabriella, Hunter, Kaylin, Leighton, Brooks, Parker, and Keaton; dear brother of Mary Watz.

Ken lived a full and accomplished life. He loved his family, his dogs, sports and traveling. A passionate traveler, he visited Australia, Europe, Hawaii and Alaska with his wife, Lurline. He was an avid golfer and a member of the St. Louis Ski Club. Ken graduated from McKinley High School in 1953 where he won third place at the Track and Field State Championship for shot put. He received his BA from Tarkio College and served in the Air Force before becoming a cartographer at the aeronautical chart plant for The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency where he retired in 1990. In his retirement, Ken enjoyed his five children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and continuing with his hobbies – including throwing the shot put in the 2008 Senior Olympics. His family will miss his caring ways, love for his family, and his sense of humor.

SERVICES:  Funeral at Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Road Affton, Missouri 63123) on Saturday, June 14, 9:00 a.m. Interment St. Paul Churchyard.  Visitation Friday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
