Sylvia Patterson Berkbigler (nee Wideman) entered into rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Paul Patterson and Bennie “Jerry” Berkbigler; loving mother of Stephanie Avery. Melissa Grotha and Angela Cullom; cherished grandmother of Brandye (Kurtis) Shoemake, Timothy (Sarah) Grotha, Haley Berkbigler and the late Clayton Avery; great-grandmother of Timothy, Jr., Renee’, Tyler, Savannah and Chandler; dearest sister of Gaye (Gary) McCarty, Vickey (Keith) Waggoner, Denise (Rich) Meinkamp and the late Vivian (survived by John) Pippin, Wayne, Raymond and Dennis (survived by Donna) Wideman; our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.

A memorial visitation will be held at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd on Thursday, May 30, from 4-7 p.m. with services concluding that evening.

  1. Sincerest Condolences to her family. I remember Sylvia when she was dating and then married to my cousin Paul Wayne. It was a long time ago…early to mid 70s. I recall her being a very beautiful woman.
