In loving memory of John L. Tacke

John L. Tacke, 87 of St. Louis, Mo passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 after a brief illness. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Melanie Tacke and his entire family.  John was a loving father to daughters Lynn (Richard) Winkelmann and Dawn Tacke, as well as a cherished stepfather and uncle.  Grandfather of Rachel Winkelmann and Matthew (Dovia) Winkelmann and Great-Grandfather of Richie Winkelmann. John was also close with and very dear to his step grandson, Justin Cissell, who spent a lot of time with John growing up.

John was born to Jessie (Joe McWherter) and Clifford Tacke on August 15, 1936 in South St. Louis City.  After four years in the Army, John built a long and successful career in personal and commercial lending where he helped many people in the St Louis area including with the opening and operating of significant area businesses.  He is survived by his siblings Judy (Bill) DeSpain and Jack (Jineen) McWherter and preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Tacke and siblings Clifford (Berneice) Tacke Jr., Jean (Bill) Sieving, Jim (Sandy) McWherter and Joe Kyle.

John’s life will be honored on Monday, April 1st at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., with visitors welcome starting at 11:00 am and a memorial service at 1:00 PM, followed by burial service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
