Daniel V. Tarpley, age 90, of Saint Louis, MO, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 20th 2026, surrounded by the profound love of the family he so faithfully cherished.
He was born on September 30, 1935 in Lafe, Arkansas to Thomas and Bessie Tarpley. A proud veteran, Dan served in the Army from 1955-1957. Following his military service, Dan worked at Starbinding Manufacturing. His family was his absolute greatest joy and his proudest achievement.
Dan loved his garden, his cabin in Arkansas, and spending time with his family. Dan loved the Lord and was always quick to tell you all the good things in his life were because of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dan is survived by his wife, Marie Tarpley; their children Rick (Cindy) Tarpley, Sheila (Mark) Simmons and Steve Tarpley. Seven grandchildren, Meghan (Cody) Schenck, Jordan (Alicia) Simmons, Brittany (James) Kupferer, Christian (Jennifer) Tarpley, Caleb Tarpley, Josh (Sara) Tarpley, and Summer Patrick. Nine great grandchildren, Ethan, Lucy, Eli, Liam, Lily, Colton, Wade, Wyatt, and Corban. Siblings, Herschel (Lilly) Tarpley of Lafe, AR, Glen (Pat) Tarpley of Lafe, AR, Wanda Owens of Paragould, AR and sister-in- law Elva Tarpley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Melvin Tarpley, and brother- in-law Raymond Owens.
Services: A celebration of life will take place at Gracelife Chapel 4572 Lemay Ferry Rd (63129) on August 11th, 2026. Visitation will be at 11:00am with the celebration of life immediately to follow at 12:00pm.
