Marilyn and I were shocked and saddened to here of the unexpected passing of our former neighbor and good friend, John Telker. Our condolences to Sue on her great loss.
Ironically, John commented on a Facebook post I made on the day of his passing and I did not see it until the following morning after his death.

I have known John for over thirty five years. He convinced me to join the Knights of Columbus. Enjoyed working with him on the first degree team for many years. I was able to present him with his 40th years of service last month. He will be missed. Rest In Peace old friend.

John was a friend to everyone he knew. He and Sue were my parents’ neighbor, and then mine for several years.
John was ALWAYS ready to lend a helping hand.
He never had anything negative to say about anyone.
He was a great watcher of the neighborhood. I took great comfort in that for my parents and my family.
John was filled with a great many stories. If he could bend your ear he’d tell you some really cool stories about his upbringing, his work, and his family.
John was extremely humble about his talents and abilities.
Another thing about John was his love for Sue. He adored her to no end. The same held true for her about him.
Talk about a match made in Heaven. From my vantage point it was!
I believe the world lost a great man, in John’s passing.
My hope is that for those he left behind, his beloved wife, Sue, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren they take comfort in knowing that others knew what a great man he was and deeply appreciated his friendship.

I met John through Amateur Radio and had the pleasure of working with him on classes and license testing. He was always a pleasure to be around…had a smile on his face…and offered to help in any way he could. He will be missed.
