October 23, 1932 - October 27, 2023

91, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday October 27th, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital.  Chuck was born on October 23rd, 1932 in Saint Louis, MO to Charles B. and Mary (nee Lovett) Thierauf.

Chuck was a proud Christian Brothers College High School Cadet (class of 1950). He attended St. Louis University and St. Louis University Medical School earning his M.D. in 1958.  After serving two years of active service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, Chuck worked as a radiologist at Alexian Brothers Hospital and St. John’s Medical Center.

Chuck was united in marriage on November 21st 1970, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in St. Louis to Brenda Sue Rathmacher. Chuck was a life-long Cardinals fan and enjoyed history, reading, playing cards, tennis, skiing and spending time with his family.  He was a loving father to, Charles T. and Erin (nee Tegtmeyer), Stephen E. and Tricia (nee Mannion), Anne M. (nee Thierauf) Paredes, Michael A. and Jamie (nee Watson), grandfather to Austin and Charlie (nee Thierauf) Buss, Lucas, Owen, Benjamin, Senna, Cameron, Elena, Madeleine, and great-grandfather to Emerson. He was a beloved brother to James and Marilyn (nee Thierauf) Engelman, Robert and Marilyn (nee Madorin) Rathmacher, Donald Rathmacher, James and Joyce (nee Rathmacher) Hill.  He was a loving uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of donations to your favorite education or nature conservancy charity.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Friday November 3rd, 4-7 p.m. then on Saturday at Most Sacred Heart (Eureka) from 9 a.m. until Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 6901 Mackenzie Road, Affton, Missouri, 63123.
