Margaret Tidwell PC and Obit

In Loving Memory

Tidwell, Margaret Mary (nee Rotter)

May 19, 1945 - December 24, 2025

Margaret Mary (Rotter) Tidwell was born on May 19th, 1945, in St. Louis MO and passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2025 surrounded by her family and their love.

Margaret was the cherished daughter of Dr. Julius Charles and Margaret Mary (Furlong) Rotter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Julius “Buzz” Rotter Jr., and her sister Marie E. Rotter.

She shared a lifetime of love with her devoted husband, Charles W. Tidwell. Together they built a family that was the center of Margaret’s world.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; her brother, Charles (Linda) Rotter; her sons, Eugene Trevor (Fiona) Williams and Charles Michael Troy (Megan) Tidwell; and her daughters, Tricia Silvey, Traery (Frank) Noubarian- Sanders, Tracee (Tim) Tidwell, and Kristine (Scott) Carpenter.

Margaret was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a proud grandmother to Ryan “Rock” (Stephanie) Williams, Adam “Ace” (Shannon) Williams, Brandon “Beamer” Williams and their mother Evelyn; Andrew Noubarian, Abbygale (Nathan) Stafford, Adam Noubarian, Aiden Sanders, Ryan “RyRy” (Alison) Roulston, Sarah (Chris) Payeur, Eric Long, Danielle Long, Jonothon Sanders, Heaven Whitlock, Levi (Tiffany) Sanders, and Harper and Henry; and a loving great-grandmother to Traery, Karter, Josey, Oliver, Rory, Georgianna, Wrenley, Lacey and Lily. She was their biggest fan- always cheering them on, celebrating their accomplishments, and offering unwavering love and support. Her family was truly the center of her world, and her pride in them was evident to everyone who knew her.

Margaret worked as a paralegal and was respected for her intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she found peace and happiness in nature, gardening, animals and horses. She deeply loved her dogs, especially Rogue, who preceded her in death, and her beloved companion, Juneau. Margaret had a special love for birds, particularly Cardinals, which brought her comfort and joy and were often a reminder of loved ones close to her heart.

She enjoyed lively conversation, and most of all, people. Margaret truly never met a stranger, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She asked for so little but gave so very much. Margaret’s generous heart, loving spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were blessed to know her.

SERVICES: Memorial visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Saturday, January 3, 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.

  1. Marge is one of the kindest and most patient people I have ever met. How she dealt with all of us when we were crazy teenagers is beyond me but her door was always open to all and she treated us all like we were her own. I will miss her dearly and will keep Chuck, Troy, and all of her family in my prayers.

  6. So sorry for your loss. Marge made Mike and I “shirt-tail” cousins when FB came along. It was so nice being able to keep up on one another’s families through pictures and posts. She will be missed.

  8. Such a fine, noble person. We became acquainted as our sons were friends at Affton High School. Through many years of friendship, Marge was always the same: friendly, kind, warm, and encouraging. We were fortunate to have known such a loving, supportive, and devoted individual. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

It’s very hard to believe I won’t be seeing my Aunt Marge when I visit St Louis …she’s always been there.
My mother Marie was Margie’s half sister. Mom was 24 when she was born and I came along two and a half years later so we were close in age. But Margaret Mary, as she was always known to us as kids, was the big girl who my sister Kathy and I looked up to and loved to hang out with because we always had so much fun. So many comments I have read about her in the last week mentioned her sweetness and kindness – all true,of course – but as kids, let’s just say she was quite a firecracker!
You never knew what kind of trouble we were going to get into as she just loved coming up with – shall we say – “provocative adventures” ? Kathy was always game, while I was usually saying my prayers that we wouldn’t get caught!
One unforgettable summer afternoon she delighted us by riding right up across the lawn to our front porch on her horse Munchkin and gave us all rides!
Like everyone who knew her, I will miss those sparkling eyes and her sunny smile and laughter, but take some comfort imagining my Grandpa, Peg and my Mom folding her into their heavenly arms.

  10. Troy, Chuck, Rock, Ace, and Beamer,

I was truly saddened to hear of Marge’s passing. I have known her since I was in Kindergarten, and saw her at a trivia night this past fall after not having seen her for over two decades and she gave me a hug. All the good memories, from baseball to the high school shenanigans at your house. My family will continue to pray for the Tidwell’s and Williams’.
