  5. Sad to hear the news of Charlie passing. I met Charlie in Dec 1988, I was a new Firefighter on the St. Louis fire dept, and Charlie was my first senior man, and I couldn’t have ask a better mentor. Such a kind soul, that taught me a lot about the job. My wife and I used to take Charlie and his wife Pat to the baseball game, then we would usually go to dinner afterwards. Just a fun couple to spend time with. I think about him often, and he will truly be missed. RIP Charlie.

  13. It was a privilege to care for you, Charlie. You were one of a kind and always knew how to make people laugh. I’ll never forget all those times I brought you ice cream late a night and we’d talk about medicine, your time in the fire department, and how you were “class treasurer” in high school. Rest in peace, man.
