Beloved wife of Anthony E. Turek for 53 years; loving mother of Anthony Gerard (Carrie) Turek and Jessica (the late Alex) Shipp; cherished Maw Maw of Emma Turek, Audrey Turek, Carly Shipp, Owen Turek and Miles Shipp; dear sister of Paul Podgornik, Rick Podgornik and Tom (Chris) Podgornik; our dear aunt, great-aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend.
Terry was loving, giving, funny, loyal, and full of life. Raised in Lemay, Terry was a proud graduate of Bishop DuBourg High School. She married her best friend, her sweetheart Tony, and they enjoyed 53 beautiful years of marriage. You could often hear Tony saying, “Whatever you want, dear.” They enjoyed many family vacations, including 11 cruises. As a mother, Terry was always encouraging, fun, and proud of Tony and Jess, but her true favorite kids were Carrie and Alex. Above all else, the title she loved most was Maw Maw. When it came to her grandkids, “No” was not in her vocabulary. In her honor, play some Deuces Wild video poker, have a Diet Coke, and always remember family comes first.
Services: Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Tuesday, September 29, 9:00am to Queen of All Saints Catholic Church for 9:30am mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation, Monday 4-7 p.m.
I remember Terry as being very funny. And she had the best luck at poker.

Terry had a special gift of making people laugh. We had so much fun in grade school & high school. She was a good friend to many & a best friend to some of us . I will never forget her & will keep her in my prayers.

One of my all-time favorite cousins! We worked at Pope’s cafeteria together as teens, then later at Mt. St. Rose Rehabilitation/Nursing facility and had a blast. Terry was always joking around and laughing. I’ll always remember her most by her great sense of humor and that contagious laugh. It was the best! Of course, how could we not laugh. The elderly patients were so cute and said the funniest things. Since we lived so close to each other we would run into each other from time to time and it was as if time never passed. We always had that bond. Her dear daughter Jessica used to babysit my kids when they were younger. I will really miss my dear cousin. May her soul rest in the loving arms of our dear Savior, Jesus.
Tony, Tony Jr., Jessica, and grandkids – I’m so sorry you lost your dear wife, mother, and Maw Maw. She was the best. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I imagine her also resting in the arms of her dear mother, my Aunt Mary.

Terry was a beautiful person and such a genuine friend with a big heart. I am praying for her family. The family she loved dearly. I know she’ll be with them still in Spirit. That’s a given.

I worked with Terry back in the days when it was Continuing Education Center (CEC) and became friends,. We had a shared hatred for that darn Xerox Copier! Terry was a genuine good, kind person. I will always remember Terri’s smile and laugh

My ex sister-in-law Terry was a wonderful human being. When I came to this country back in 1972 she was so nice to me and greeted me with open arms and my children as well. Later on, we worked at Mount St Rose,we had a blast. I am so sorry for your loss Tony, Jessica and Little Tony. She loved her husband and children. She will surely be missed.

Aunt Terry, you are cherished and missed by all who knew and loved you. I still cannot believe that you are actually gone. I have stared at this announcement since my dad (your brother Paul) sent me the link, and I just can’t believe it. I will miss your impish smile and booming laugh. Your presence lit up the room. I loved your no-nonsense, straightforward approach to life. Thank you for everything you did for me – from including my brother and me in your outings to the pool at Suson Park to the rides to therapy after my car accident and everything in between and since.

We are all just heartbroken at the loss of our sister Terry. She was the driving force for our family, Mom, Dad, Paul, Tom, and I. She had our backs in every situation. Her strong voice, infectious laugh, and no punches-pulled conversation defined her. Memories of her in times gone by will be with us forever. We’ll miss her but knowing that she’s in good hands is comforting.
