He met his wife, Gale Poff, at Holy Cross Walther League while he was attending Cleveland High School and she was attending Roosevelt High School. Four years later, September 22, 1956, they were married. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children, Diane (Skip), Donna, (Dan), and Carl (Barb). They continued to be blessed with 5 grandchildren Matt (Megan), Danny (Jenny), Joey (Katie), MaryKate and Kelly and 2 great grandchildren Quinn and Claire (and another great grand baby due March 2020). Dan served in the US Army Reserves (1960-1966) as a Sergeant when discharged. In 1955 he entered the plumbing profession as an apprentice plumber. He was a proud member of Plumber’s Local 35. He started teaching welding part time in 1968 for approximately 17 years and then started instructing all apprentice subjects for 6 years at which time he was appointed the Director of Education in 1992. He retired at age 60 and enjoyed many years of retirement traveling, playing and watching golf, going to the gym and enjoying his family. Dan was a loving and devoted husband and father and a conscientious and a steadfast Christian.

He encountered numerous hospitalizations and for the past 2 years he courageously battled the prostate cancer which spread throughout his entire body without complaint. Finally, at his home, Tuesday, September 24, 2019, he peacefully departed this life. He achieved the age of 82 years, 8 months and 21 days.
