Valdes, Anthony A.

Born October 22, 1932 in St Louis, Missouri to Anthony C. and Frances (Jobst) Valdes.  He was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  Tony always referred to himself as a one eyed, left handed welder who worked on tha Gateway Arch.  A lifetime member of Boilermakers Union Local 27,  Tony retired from the Nooter Corporation after 50 years of service.  He was the loving husband of the late Mary E. Valdes; loving father of Anthony J. (Theresa), Jefferson City, MO,; Danny, California; Kathy, Indiana; Chris, Illinois; Paul, Arizona; and Tamara Sherrod, Washington.  Loving stepfather of Tracy Taylor Kelly (Robert), Maryland;  Paula Taylor Alvarez (Thomas) and Donna Taylor, St. Louis.  Survived by one sister, Carolyn Wheeler, St Louis.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons John and Ray Valdes, stepson Mark Taylor, brother, Frances Valdes, and sister Rosalia Hines.  He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be Friday, November 24 in the Nazareth Living Center chapel.  Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00, followed by mass at 11:00 am.  Internment to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Arrangements under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home South County.  In lieu of flowers, donations recommended to Nazareth Living Center benevolent fund.
