In Loving Memory

Vierling, Kathy (nee Vogt)

March 22, 1946 – November 28, 2017

Celeste Kathleen Vogt was the only child of Celeste Sale and Charles Vogt.  Raised in a conservative home, Kathy went on to become very involved in local politics, working at the polls for many years with the election committee in Jefferson County.

Before being stricken with Parkinson’s, she served on the HOA board in her community, RainTree and remained actively  involved with her church family. A devout lover of dogs, she was mother to Duchess and later, her great dog love, Madison.

One of the most dedicated and hard working employees anyone could know, Kathy spent most of her life working in the travel industry, first at Maritz Travelers Service, then in house for McDonnell Douglas. Kathy had strong opinions and high standards, she had a sign on her desk which read, “Everyone is entitled to my opinion” and she meant it.  Kathy enjoyed travels, particularly her time in England where she was smitten with the beauty of the  gardens.

She is survived by the two daughters she raised Heather  Chatman, Tiffany Berch, her grandchildren, Lenny DeShurley, Alexis DeShurley, Harrison Deshurley, Charlie Berch, Maggie Berch and her great granddaughter Elise DeShurley.

Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois on Friday December 1 from 9:00 am until funeral service time at 10:00 am. Interment at J.B. National Cemetery. Contributions to Parkinson Foundation or Stray Rescue of St. Louis appreciated.
