Virginia C. Matecki (nee Smith)  Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Beloved wife of late Paul (2017); dear mother of Paul (Kathleen) Matecki, David (Wilma) Matecki and Joyce (David) Ellison; dear grandmother of Monika Matecki, Emily (Mario) Diaz, Eric Ellison, Kathleen (Jamie) York, Michael Ellison and Olivia Matecki; dear great grandmother of Kinzley, Vinny, Estelle and Diego.

She married Paul in 1953 after he served in the Navy.  She was the youngest of 11 children, all of whom predeceased her.  She learned early on the importance of serving and helping others.  She graduated from DePaul School of Nursing.  She was an expert seamstress|quilter and loved to garden.  She was a member of the St.Martin of Tours quilting guild and served on many other organizations at the church she attended for over 62 years.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St.Martin of Tours quilting guild.

Services:  Visitation at St.Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 610 West Ripa Ave. 63125, on Friday May 24, 11:00 am until Funeral Mass at 12 Noon.  Interment J.B. National Cemetery. A KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY SERVICE

  2. Aunt Virginia life was a life lived to it fullest. A happy marriage, a wonderful family and a loving home were just some of the great things Aunt Virginia accomplished. With so many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Aunt Virginia Legacy will certainly live on.. May you find peace and comfort, with the help of God and family and friends,
