 Vorholt, DVM, Thomas W. on Saturday,  Aug. 21, 2021 beloved husband of Carol Vorholt (nee Lauzon). Dear father of Joe (Jordan) Cooper. Dear grandfather of Marcillina, Ricardo, Kennedy, Payten Horn, and Michael Martin. Dear brother of; Robert (Marietta) Vorholt. Dear brother-in-law of Dianne (Mark) Thomure, JoAnn (Tom) Bohnenstiehl, Angela Manarang, Bernard (Barb) Lauzon, and Leo  Lauzon. Dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Helen Vorholt, mother and father-in-law Bernard and Rose Lauzon, step-daughter Cassondra Horn, and his niece Christy Luther.

Dr. Thomas Vorholt was veterinarian who was genuinely curious about diseases and new ways to make animals well. His memberships in professional organizations and his commitment to continuing education meant better, more knowledgeable care for your pet. He was a member of the Veterinary Medical Association and a member of the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia and had over thirty years of experience in veterinary surgery and medical care. He was a former Senior Staff Surgeon of the St. Louis Zoo. Dr. Vorholt has said about his work “I’m happy that my work is not just an office job. It’s immensely satisfying to be able to help all kinds of animals from many different environments, and I consider it a privilege to have been able to assist the St. Louis Zoo.” Dr. Vorholt is also a former Collie and Maine Coon Cat breeder. Pictures of his former Collies and Cats were on display throughout the clinic along with his current Collies.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Wednesday August 25, 9:00am to Assumption Catholic Church for 9:30am Mass. Interment Green Mount Catholic Cemetery (Belleville, IL)

Visitation: Tuesday August 24, from 4:00 – 7:00pm
