Entered into the arms of Our Lord on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the age of 97.
He leaves behind his eight children Debbie (Brad) Story, Emil (Cathy), Dorothy (Tim) Day, Marsha (Mark) Godefroid, Gary (Dianne), Joanne (Mike) Auer, Richard (Theresa), Mary (Matt) Gearhart; His Grandchildren: Jeff (Susan) Ebert, Kevin (Christy) Ebert, Greg, Katie, Kristen (Mike) Bridges, Jennifer (Larry) Rudolph, Brian (Ashley) Godefroid, Adam (Kathlen) Godefroid, Cassidy, Sean, Carley, Sarah, Gabby, Samantha, Lance, Nathan, Ava, Brandon and Danica. His 12 great-grandchildren Owen, Lucas, Oliver, Carter, Logan, Maverick, Thomas, Noah, Emily, Genevieve, Harrison and Gabriel.
Emil was a loving, devoted husband to Louise, the love of his life for 71 years. A devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He dedicated his life to his family and to God. His sacrifices were great and numerous, never to be forgotten.
In the early days of his career, he moved from setting bricks as a brick layer to setting teeth as a dental technician in his lab he started in 1975-1993. He’ll be remembered as someone who created beautiful teeth for patients which brought incredible smiles to their faces. But as people came to understand, it was his nature that brought smiles to everyone who met him. People were drawn to him because of his nature to accept and love them as they are. It was his nature to be a simple man. In his world it was simply this.. Love and family. Nothing more. Nothing less.

It is with combined heartfelt sadness and elation to loose someone so dear to us; yet to know that he is in the arms of Jesus for all his good works on earth. Mr. Emil Waigand, Sr. was a special person to my husband (John) and myself. He was always welcoming with a big smile and a hug with each visit in person or on the telephone (we heard his excitement in his voice as we spoke). We will miss him dearly. Condolences and prayers to his family as you mourn the loss of such an incredible and godly person.
Thank you Cheryl and John. Dad was always full of joy when you called or visited with him. Thank you for your love for him.
My sympathy to the family. Peace and love to all. What a wonderful tribute.
Thank you Sheri.
Emil and Cathy so very sorry for your loss. Even though your dad is now passed, he lived a long and happy life. May our Love bring peace to all of you, at this most difficult time. Much love, Mary Hollstein
