In Loving Memory

Walker, Barbara Ann (nee Molnar)

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Barb, affectionately known as Babs, was born to Paul and Ruth Molnar in 1949. After graduating from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1967, she met the love of her life, Jim Walker, at the University of Missouri. They were married in 1973. She earned her Masters in Education degree from Southern Illinois University, pursuing her passion of helping children with special needs. She was devoted to teaching and making sure her students had the best chance at success. She retired from the Special School District of St. Louis County in 2004.

Beloved wife of James Walker for 50 years; loving mother of Kevin Walker, Patrick (Katie) Walker and Laura Walker; adoring grandmother of Teddy, Charlie and Ben Walker; dear sister of Paula (the late Michael) McLean. Our dearest sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.

Family will welcome friends at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church (9740 Sappington Rd., Sappington, MO 63128) on Tuesday, May 16, 9 am until memorial mass at 10 am. Memorial contributions to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Duo Dogs, Inc. are appreciated.

Condolences

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Barb. I especially remember our conversations about working for Special School District. Our common philosophy of how important it was that every child get their chance to succeed. I’m certain Aunt Barb made a huge difference in so many students’ lives. God bless Aunt Barb and her entire family ❤️

I remember being with Steve Bogard in a phone booth while he called her when we were in 8th grade.. We knew how to make a ten cent phone call with a penny. Barb was so much fun to talk to. She will be sorely missed.

I remember, fondly, all our years at St. Joan Of Arc (and later Bishop DuBourg). You were always the kindest, friendliest person I ever knew. You will be missed here on earth, but God must have needed another Angel by his side. Rest in peace, Friend!
