Waller

In Loving Memory

Waller, Jerry Lee

Jerry Lee Waller, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 28th at Jefferson Barracks Medical Center.

He was born on January 16, 1948. He grew up and lived in Arnold, MO, where he was also a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 36 years and was well known for the Dairy Queen the family owned from 1988-1998.

He was the son of the late William and Norma (Edgar) Waller. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of over 45 years, Diane (Dummerth) Waller. Cherished father of Mark (Karissa) Waller, Stephen (Corin) Waller, and Erin (Erik) DeVore. Best papa ever to Corban, Peyton, Barron, Kolten, Rielyn, Declan, Jamieson, Kellan, Hoyt and Grady. Loving brother of Barbara Waller. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend.

A proud Vietnam Veteran and 1966 graduate of Fox Senior High School, Jerry never met a stranger and was known as a friend to all. His smiling, friendly face could be seen on Saturday nights at the DQ Car Shows serving up Hot Eats and Cool Treats. He enjoyed getaways at the Lake of the Ozarks, keeping his cars impeccably clean, sending flowers to his beautiful wife, watching his grandkids’ sporting events and snuggling up to his loyal pup, Walker. Known for his infectious smile, great bear hugs, and larger than life laughter, he was a great man that brought light, love and laughter to all those around him. He will be deeply missed.

Services: Memorial Mass at St. David Catholic Church (Arnold, MO) Thursday, September 8, at 11 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. All are invited back to St. David for a luncheon and fellowship following the committal services. In celebration of Jerry’s life, please feel free to wear his favorite color, red.  A KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY SERVICE. In lieu of flowers, masses or a donation to Wounded Warrior Project preferred.

  5. Wow, Wow, Wow, what a GREAT MAN he was. The Joy in Jerry’s heart beamed through his smile and always kind encouraging words.
Jerry was a role model for what a Man, Father, Husband, Grandfather, Father In Law and sibling should be, kind, caring and compassionate. It’s how Jerry lived life and most importantly it’s the legacy he’s left behind for his family and friends to admire.
If the human heart could only Love just half as Jerry’s whole heart Loved what a difference it could make.

  17. Penny and I were fortunate to have known and traveled with Jerry and Diane. He introduced us to a board game that led to many happy and fun filled hours.

During our travels and excursions we met dozens of people and Jerry never hesitated to introduce everyone at his table to whomever we encountered, and give the newcomer a brief history how we all met. Many a trip we took was interrupted by Jerry’s fascination with a car wash, which we all learned to except.

He loved to talk about his grandkids and what they were doing. He just loved to be with people and everyone was destined to become a new friend. I have said it before, I imagine Jerry will be ready to meet each of us at the gates of heaven and introduce us to St. Peter with a short story of how we met.

Jerry led a good fight all the way to the end, and did so by his own timetable. No more pain. Rest peacefully our friend. We will all be together in due time.

We will truly miss your smile, the laugh and the hugs from our

  19. It’s truly a sad day when one of your best friends and people you admire the most passes away. I met Jerry the summer of 1975 when I began working for the USPS in Arnold,Mo. We hit it off from the start. Really who doesn’t when they meet a man of his caliber. He’s been my friend for 47 yrs. We’ve had alot of great times together. We’ve played softball on the same team for years and also bowled in a league at Arnold Bowling Alley for years. If you didn’t get along with Jerry then you have some kind of character flaw . He was the best. He would do ANYTHING for you. I’m am going to miss my buddy all the remaining years I have on this planet. If there is a Heaven then Jerry will surely be one of It’s inhabitants. Love you Jerry !!! Rest in peace dear soul.
