Werner, Vernon Francis

Vernon Francis Werner foritified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Saturday, August 3, 2024.  Beloved son of the late Harry and Regina (nee: Lurk) Werner; dearest brother of Marilyn (the late Leonard) Gegg, Leanna “Annie” Rodenmeyer and the late Janet (survived by Everett) Grass and the late Mary “Maggie” (the late Fredolin) Staab; dear uncle, cousin and friend.

He was a finish carpenter for 60 years, member of carpenters union 97 and 2119. Third degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and longtime member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church.  He was a world traveler and belonged to many social clubs.  He was a very generous donor to many chairtable organizations.

Services:  Visitation at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church 11011 Mueller Road St. Louis, MO 63123, Friday, August 9, 9am until funeral Mass 11am.  Concludes at church.  Interment St. Joseph Church Cemetery Zell, MO at a later date.  By Kutis South County Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.

  1. Our deepest condolences to the family of Vernon Werner. Vernon was our neighbor for nearly 50 years, and was one of the kindest people we have known. He was a private person who did a lot “behind the scenes” for many charitable causes, as well as lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to all of you.
