In Loving Memory

Whitman, Genevieve “Jenny” Lee (nee Howard).

May 2, 1947 - August 2, 2023

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Born May 2, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, died August 2, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Thomas Whitman. Dearest daughter of the late Gregory and Betty Howard. Devoted mother to Rev. Mark Whitman and Eric (Laura Massarella) Whitman.  Loving sister of the late Annette Howard, the late Robert Howard, and the late Nancy (Bob) Schimoler.  Dear aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and loyal friend to many.

Jenny had a great love of the Blessed Mother, inspiring her to be a devoted and loving mother to her two sons. She was an excellent cook and made the best lasagna in the world. Jenny was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, staying loyal to them even through the tough times. Her greatest qualities were honesty, loyalty to her faith and family, a down to earth wisdom, caretaker, and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed, but the love she left us will remain forever in the hearts and minds of those she touched.

Jenny donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine in order to gain insight to possible cures of various diseases and educate future medical professionals.

A Memorial Mass, celebrating her birth into eternal life will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church (1424 South First Capitol Drive, St. Charles, MO 63303) on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:00 am. until Memorial Mass time at 12:00 noon, with a Luncheon to follow in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the offering of Masses for the repose of her soul, Shriners Children’s St. Louis | Children’s Hospital (shrinerschildrens.org), and the American Cancer Society
