Wobbe

In Loving Memory

Wobbe, Donald L. Sr.

In Loving Memory of Donald L. Wobbe Sr

Donald, age 85,  passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2025.

He was married for 64 wonderful years to the love of his life, Perle C Wobbe (Luechtefeld) and together they built a beautiful legacy of love and family. He was a proud father and grandfather to Donald Jr. and his children, Elizabeth (Paul) Freiling, Katherine (Justin) Hawkins. Michael Sr. (Lesley) and their children, Alexis and Michael Jr. Karen (John) Sewester and their children, Jacqueline (Justin) Brown, Gabrielle (Muharem Rekic), Kimberlee, and Garrett. Beloved  great-grandfather to Cynthia and Aurora Hawkins, Pearson and Bastian Freiling, McKaylee and Trent Brown, Leo and Alexander Rekic. He was also a loving brother to David and the late  James and Richard, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, mischief, and deep bonds that never faded.

A man of simple joys and deep devotion, Don loved spending time outdoors—especially with a fishing pole in hand. Whether it was casting a line, telling a joke or singing a silly song by the water, he found joy in making memories with those he loved.

He was a proud alumnus of St. Mary’s High School and active in the St. Simon the Apostle Holy Name Society, where he formed lifelong friendships.

Don will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, strong values, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.

In keeping with Don’s loving and generous spirit, as a final act of kindness Don has made a donation of his body to St. Louis University.

A celebration of life will be held at Assumption Parish 4725 Mattis Road St. Louis, MO 63128 on  August 23rd at 10:00am. The family will be in the back of church before the service to welcome all who come to honor Don’s memory.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Don’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. https://alzfdn.org/donate/
