Woods Draft

In Loving Memory

Woods, Alice Marie

February 19, 1944 - September 3, 2026

Fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, Alice Marie Woods, aged 82, of St. Louis, Missouri, was called home to the Lord on September 3, 2026, passing peacefully while surrounded by family and friends.

Born on February 19, 1944, to the late Victor and Marie Horst, Alice was a devoted spouse, terrific mother, and friend to many.

Preceded in death by her most-beloved husband Michael when she was 48, Alice rebuilt and redefined her life around her children, family, faith and friends.

Alice is survived by her beloved children Michael (Dawn), Joseph (Angie) and David (Julie).  Michael, Joseph and David are forever grateful for parents that taught them the value of hard work, resilience and love.

Alice was preceded in death by her cherished sisters Diane (the late Thomas) and Victoria, each of whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her dearest sisters-in-law Elaine, Karen and Joyce, and was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Mary (George).

She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren Kayla, Claire, Grace, Audrey, Austin, Ethan and Connor.  Alice rarely missed a game or event and was a constant presence in her grandchildren’s lives.

Kindhearted and compassionate, Alice will also be forever missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Alice had a gift for making friends.  She cared deeply about those friends, and if you were lucky enough to be one of them, you never had a doubt about how deeply she cared about you.  The family appreciates the outpouring of love from Alice’s many close friends over these last several months.

Services: Funeral Mass to be held at 11 am on September 23rd at Mary Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Road, St. Louis, MO  63128.  Visitation for family and close friends to be held immediately prior to the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Following the Funeral Mass, Alice will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery alongside her most-beloved Michael on what would have been his 87th birthday.

In honor of a life well lived and in lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a hospice provider of your choice, or to St. John Vianney High School, where she was a much-loved volunteer over her final 12 years.
