Young, Brian Alan

November 7, 1964 - February 8, 2024

Brian Alan Young, 59, of Fenton, MO, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024.

Brian was born on November 7, 1964, to his parents Louis and Sarah Young in St. Louis, Missouri.  He graduated from Southview School in Sunset Hills, MO, in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Michael Young, from Chester, IL, and his mother, Sarah Rose (Juhl) Young from Wathena, KS.  His uncle, Wallace Herman Juhl, cousins Carrie Cuma Juhl and Kyle Anthony Juhl.

Brian will be greatly missed by his brother Bruce and his wife, Dana (niece Neeva), his sister Becky and her husband, Mike (niece Rachel), and his youngest sister Brenda and her husband, Monty (nephew Tucker and niece Sadie).  He was also loved by his cousins:  Lance, Tonya, Mitzi, Brynn, and their families.

Brian was always happy, smiling, and loving.  He loved to joke and play “April Fool’s”.  He worked at Stratford Inn, Denny’s, and Taco Bell along with Lafayette Workshop and VIP Workshop.  He had many friends over the years and wonderful support through his life in St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, and Jefferson County.

Brian loved watching sports – St. Louis Cardinals, Blues hockey team, and football, mainly when it was the St. Louis Rams!  He also loved playing sports with the Special Olympics including bowling, basketball, swimming, and bocce ball.  Brian was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle.  He also enjoyed country music and line dancing, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Marvel movies.

SERVICES:  A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis (https://dsagsl.org/donation) and Dementia Society of America (www.dementiasociety.org)

  3. Brian lived a full, meaningful life. We spent countless hours playing ping pong as kids, and he was my best friend during my childhood. My condolences.

  5. To Brian family I was very happy to have been able to work with Brian for many years yes he was a joker for sure but I always loved to watch him dance and try his hardest to charm the girls he. Was a joy you will be missed
