Joanna and Bart:
We loved, and will miss, your lovely mother. We know the last years were hard on her and, in turn, hard on you. For decades, we were blessed to have our moms always looking out for us, but, with increased age and declining health, the roles inevitably get reversed, and we became the caretakers to them—a role that is often difficult and uncomfortable. At my mom’s birthday party in 2019, it was the last time I saw Elizabeth, and, it seemed like every time I glanced her way, she was watching you both, and her eyes told of how much love she had and how proud she was of both of you.
I will always remember your Mom at our holiday get-togethers; your family enlarged ours, bringing more love, fun, and, especially on the part of your mother, a lot of elegance and flavorful new dishes-even her dishes of food were elegantly presented! She was always impeccably dressed and was unfailingly, always ready with a hug. She was just a very classy and beautiful woman, and she will be so missed.
You are in our prayers and thoughts and we pray that God‘s healing, loving touch will always be upon you, as you go through such a difficult time. We loved Elizabeth and we love you.
