HEAVEN JUST GAINED A NEW PARTY PLANNER, SPORTS ENTHUSIAST AND PRESCHOOL TEACHER.
JOSEPH JOHN ZIEGLER, ASLEEP IN JESUS ON AUGUST 20, 2026.
BELOVED HUSBAND OF KRISTINE ZIEGLER (NEE FINKLANG). DEVOTED FATHER TO OLIVIA AND JACKSON ZIEGLER. LOVING SON OF FRANK AND THE LATE SUSAN ZIEGLER AND SON IN LAW OF LINDA FINKLANG (BILL). FAVORITE BROTHER TO DIANE JULIUS (KEVIN), JEFF ZIEGLER (JULIE), DEBBIE PETTI (TONY), FRANCINE TOLLIVER, MARY GUINTA (DAVE) AND ANGIE CURCURU (ALEX). BROTHER IN LAW TO STEPHANIE STOTTS (TOM). UNCLE TO BEN, ADAM, ISAAC, VERONICA, BETHANY, ALLISON, NICK, CAITLYN, JACOB, BRANDON, MEGAN, HAYDEN, KILE, KELSEY, KATY, LOUIE, ABBY, FRANK, CLARE, LUCY, MILO, DELANEY, ADDISON AND BRAEDEN. GREAT UNCLE, NEPHEW, COUSIN AND FRIEND TO MORE THAN WE CAN COUNT.
JOE WAS ALWAYS THE GUY TO PLAN A PARISH DANCE OR CRAZY BOWL GAME. HE COORDINATED THE ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DAY FOOTBALL GAME TURNED INTO SOCCER GAME, WAS IN CHARGE OF HANDING OUT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS AND WAS THE CREATOR AND HOST OF OUR BELOVED CHRISTMAS TRIVIA. THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOVED ALL THINGS HALLOWEEN AND JOE’S FAVORITE DISH TO MAKE WAS JAMBALAYA. HE ALWAYS MADE WAAAAY MORE THAN NEEDED BUT LOVED HAVING THE LEFTOVERS.
HE WAS OUR BOAT CAPTAIN, ANCHOVY LOVING, THRIFT STORE JUNKIE AND DEVOTED BLUES, CARDINALS AND RAIDERS FAN. BUT ABOVE ALL, JOE WAS THE WORLD’S MOST DEVOTED YANKEES SUPERFAN.
HIS GREATEST PRIDE AND JOY WERE OLIVIA AND JACKSON, PASSING ON THE VALUES OF GENEROSITY, KINDNESS AND INCLUSIVITY AND HE TRULY EXCELLED AT BEING A STAY AT HOME DAD AND DOG DAD TO AUGGIE AND ZEKE.
ONE OF JOE’S FAVORITE JOBS WAS TEACHING HIS BELOVED STUDENTS AT QUEEN OF ALL SAINTS, WHERE HE WAS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS MR GEORGE AND MR NOODLE.
JOE’S GREATEST LOVE WAS AND WILL FOREVER BE KRISSY. HE WAS EVERY BIT AS CRAZY ABOUT HER ON HIS LAST DAY AS HE WAS ON THE DAY THEY MET. HE HAD TO WORK HARD TO WIN HER OVER, BUT HIS PERSISTENCY AND OVERLY KIND GESTURES FINALLY WON HER OVER. NO MATTER WHAT HE WOULD ALWAYS BE HEARD SAYING, “WHATEVER YOU WANT KRIS.”
JOE WAS THE DEFINITION OF A GENTLEMAN AND A TRUE FRIEND. HE BROUGHT FUN WHEREVER HE WENT, MADE PEOPLE FEEL WELCOME AND LOVED, AND GAVE HIS WHOLE HEART TO HIS FAMILY, HIS FRIENDS, HIS STUDENTS AND HIS COMMUNITY.
SO, SO MANY OF YOU HAVE ASKED WHAT CAN WE DO? HOW CAN WE HELP? IF YOU WOULD TRULY LIKE TO HONOR JOE, GO AND DO SOMETHING KIND FOR SOMEONE ELSE. CUT A NEIGHBOR’S GRASS. DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL FOOD PANTRY. VOLUNTEER IN YOUR COMMUNITY. HELP SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A HAND, EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN. THE GREATEST WAY WE CAN HONOR HIM IS TO CARRY THAT KINDNESS FORWARD. EVEN IN DEATH, JOE CONTINUES TO DO WHAT HE HAS ALWAYS DONE-HELP OTHERS. THROUGH THE GIFT OF TISSUE DONATION, HIS GENEROSITY AND SELFLESSNESS WILL LIVE ON, BRINGING HOPE AND HEALING TO OTHERS. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FINAL ACT OF LOVE AND A TRUE REFLECTION OF THE WAY JOE LIVED HIS LIFE.

I am so sorry for your loss. Joe was such a great guy and I loved helping you and him at St Martin school picnic. Joe will be missed. Chrissy if you ever need anything you know where to find me🙂.
Praying for you all! I’ll miss his Bloody Mary bar and his sense of humor.
I really don’t have words to comprehend the magnitude of losing Joe in our lives everyday with us will impact so many people who loved him. My deepest sympathy goes to Krissy, Olivia and Jackson and Joe’s entire family and community.
We did not know each other long but we did meet during Stella’s Wish Foundation golf outing.
You were very nice to talk too and as President of Stella’s Wish I am glad we could grant your New York Yankees wish for you and your family. May god bless your family
KRISTINE, I am so sorry for your loss of your loving husband. My condolences to you and your family! Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
To the entire Ziegler Family – my sincerest condolences on your loss. It is so hard to believe someone that was so full of life can be gone. I will always remember him giving my Dad the nickname “Wheels” when they played slow pitch softball together. From what I knew of him – he made everything more fun. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.
Krissy, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Your husband sounded like an amazing and inspiring person who touched so many people. Prayers and hugs knowing he is at peace now.
Krissy and Family,
I am Donna’s mom and she has shared with me your ongoing journey. I offer my deepest sympathies and support. It is so sad and so hard. Everything I’ve read and heard about Joe tells me he was someone I would have liked to have known.
He is with God in Heaven, but you will find him in everyday ways, visiting and watching over his loving family. Talk to him…he will hear you.
Prayers continue for strength and peace.
God bless you all.
My dear cousin Krissy,

Chrissy, Olivia, and Jackson,
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I know I only had the privilege of knowing Joe for few years, but I always looked forward to his quiet humor and quick wit. His love for his family was so clear to see. He always beamed with pride when talking about all of Olivia and Jackson’s accomplishments. My thoughts are with you all.
I only met Joe one time when him and Krissy donated their time helping a mutual friend move. Like his obituary described him….always helping others!❤️ Sending hugs to the family who were so lucky to have such an amazing role model in their life. ❤️❤️ Love Barb and Greg (Kathy Paske’s friends) your new neighbor❤️☀️🙏
Donna’s mom here. My sincere sympathies for your family’s loss. Joe’s obituary is beautiful and he seems like someone everyone should have known. Your continued journey will be heard, but look for his in everyday things. He is with your family and will be in special ways. Love and hugs to you all!
