  15. Kent launches strobe rocket….1,750 feet altitude.

Steve up next: K, everybody ready? (for bowling ball launch).

Kent: What, another one in the woods?

Steve: No, this one should be retrievable.

    Kent: yeeeahhhh….

Steve: Fire in the hole. [K-p-foom!]

Kent: Not as high as my smoke.

Yes, ya had to be there. But if you were, I wanted for all there to crack up again, courtesy Kent.

  19. Kent was the first person I met after my husband Kevin Eckrich brought me to St Louis in 1990. I’ll never forget the many 4 th of July fireworks he and Noel put on in Noel’s back yard, almost catching Kevin on fire! Kent always had a kind word but kidded us about our “sea of cats’”that we had in our home. You will be sorely missed, Kent!❤️

  23. It’s always hard to loose an old friend but when it’s a sudden thing, it’s so much more significant of a loss. Kent has been a friend since our high school days as well as being fairly close neighbors in Rock Hill as we made our way through several schools and classes together. Many stories could be told about some crazy times in our youth … mostly good memories of those years of not much responsibility, inventing the fun in life, being short of money yet carefree and feeling “invincible”. Cruising on 25 cent/gallon gas, camping trips, double dates, shared secrets, one particular party at his house when his parents were away that drew so many more people than were invited, and SO much more all come to mind. One of the few friends who I stayed in touch with for all these year’s. Abundant condolences to Kent’s family … he will be missed by many. Wishing peace to my old buddy ……….

  43. My deepest condolences to Ken’s family and many friends. I’ve only known Ken a short time, when he bought his GTO he asked St. Louis Car Muesum if they could lead him to anyone that knew about his new car. They gave him my contact information and we talked for hours. After the meeting on the phone we spent a lot of time at Sonic and other cruises. The world lost a great man and will be missed by many. I’d say RIP but I hope you find a lot of car guys and fireworks to spend your time.

  45. My condolences to the Zimmerman family. Kent was an awesome guy who always had a smile and wise crack ready. I did work with him at the County, but I’m really going to miss his wise cracks on my Facebook posts. The best thing I will always remember about Kent is you always knew where you stood with him and he was definitely a real down to earth person. May he rest in peace and the family find a small comfort in his memories.
