Well Kent, this makes me very sad. I called Cathy Cline to let her know and my mom. I just now read about the accident. Thank you for coming to my moms Peach Pie and Champagne Party for do many years. For being such a good sport as she tried to play match. In my mind you’ll always be a nice guy with alit explosives in the basement. RIP friend, this “boom’s” for you. Claire Victoria

I’ll miss you at the MoPyro shoots and down at the gun club my friend. Your presence always made the day more enjoyable and looked forward to seeing you! Until the good Lord calls us all home and we meet up again, I will carry you in my heart and memories.

I am also sorry for your loss and thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Knowing Kent and spending time with was a blessing since he was always upbeat no matter what and everyone he met loved him. Love you my friend. I will miss you because the time with you was way too short.

Kent launches strobe rocket….1,750 feet altitude.
Steve up next: K, everybody ready? (for bowling ball launch).
Kent: What, another one in the woods?
Steve: No, this one should be retrievable.
Kent: yeeeahhhh….
Steve: Fire in the hole. [K-p-foom!]
Kent: Not as high as my smoke.
Yes, ya had to be there. But if you were, I wanted for all there to crack up again, courtesy Kent.

So sorry to hear the news about Kent. He was a great guy that I had the chance of hanging with at car shows and was impressed with his sincerity and genuine interest in others. Prayers sent to his family, he will be missed by many.

Kent was the first person I met after my husband Kevin Eckrich brought me to St Louis in 1990. I’ll never forget the many 4 th of July fireworks he and Noel put on in Noel’s back yard, almost catching Kevin on fire! Kent always had a kind word but kidded us about our “sea of cats’”that we had in our home. You will be sorely missed, Kent!❤️

It’s always hard to loose an old friend but when it’s a sudden thing, it’s so much more significant of a loss. Kent has been a friend since our high school days as well as being fairly close neighbors in Rock Hill as we made our way through several schools and classes together. Many stories could be told about some crazy times in our youth … mostly good memories of those years of not much responsibility, inventing the fun in life, being short of money yet carefree and feeling “invincible”. Cruising on 25 cent/gallon gas, camping trips, double dates, shared secrets, one particular party at his house when his parents were away that drew so many more people than were invited, and SO much more all come to mind. One of the few friends who I stayed in touch with for all these year’s. Abundant condolences to Kent’s family … he will be missed by many. Wishing peace to my old buddy ……….

Condolences to the family. Kent and I have been friends since 1962. We enjoyed our cars thru the years, hanging out at Parkmoor in Kirkwood in the 60’s. Our fishing experience at his parents place & my parents place on the Big River. Lots of good memories. I will miss you my friend.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Kent Zimmerman. I worked with Kent and Todd at St. Louis County Assessor’s office for many years. Kent was a joy to work with. He was very funny and very out spoken. I will always remember his love of classic cars, fireworks and cheese curds. He will always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. May he forever rest in peace.

Jeff and Todd, I can’t tell you how honored I am to have met your father. He was such a great guy to talk to and he absolutely loved his cars, which was something we had in common.
Tracy and I are so sorry about what happened. Please know you two and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Ken’s family and many friends. I’ve only known Ken a short time, when he bought his GTO he asked St. Louis Car Muesum if they could lead him to anyone that knew about his new car. They gave him my contact information and we talked for hours. After the meeting on the phone we spent a lot of time at Sonic and other cruises. The world lost a great man and will be missed by many. I’d say RIP but I hope you find a lot of car guys and fireworks to spend your time.

My condolences to the Zimmerman family. Kent was an awesome guy who always had a smile and wise crack ready. I did work with him at the County, but I’m really going to miss his wise cracks on my Facebook posts. The best thing I will always remember about Kent is you always knew where you stood with him and he was definitely a real down to earth person. May he rest in peace and the family find a small comfort in his memories.
