On August 1, 2021 God opened Heaven’s gates and welcomed Jane Żmuda (nee Zadło) originally from Spytkowice, Poland, currently residing in Kirkwood, Missouri. Jane was 88 years old. Beloved wife of the late Bolesław Żmuda for over 53 years; loving mother of Tadeusz Żmuda, Władysława (Krzysztof) Zając, Bronisław (Barbara) Żmuda and Elżbieta (Michael) Colón; cherished Babcia of Asia Żmuda, Marcin (Sarah) Zając, Luke (Jill) Żmuda, Kasia (Ellis) Brown, Adam Żmuda, Natalia Żmuda, Isabella Colón, Arthur Żmuda and Alexander Colón; our dear great-grandmother of 12, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many. Jane is preceded in death by her parents Maria Zadło (nee Magiera) and Jan Zadło, and her daughter Marysia Żmuda. One of 7 siblings, Jane is survived by her sister Bernice Zadło and brother Jerzy (Maria) Zadło.
Jane was an accomplished tailor that designed and created garments. She was courageous and a trailblazer who paved the way for a better life for her children by immigrating to the U.S. Jane was an avid gardener, loved to sing and above all adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services: Visitation at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes Ave., St. Louis, MO 63109, on Wednesday, August 4 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery 6901 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123 immediately following mass.
