Zschiegner, Doris Rose (nee Guebert)

November 26, 1925 - May 11, 2024

passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024. She was born on November 26, 1925 in Red Bud, Illinois.

 

She was the loving wife of Martin for 72 years, wonderful mother of Kathryn Carter, proud grandmother to Brian (Shea) Carter and Becky (Patrick) Marx, and great-grandmother to Kennis and Rylee Marx.

 

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Martin, her daughter Kathryn, her brother Don Guebert, and her sisters Eileen Hanebutt and Evelyn Muench. She is survived by her brothers Glenn Guebert and Jim Guebert, many nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Doris lived life to the fullest, enjoying travelling around the world with Martin and their friends, great food, and was an active member of St.

Thomas/Holy Spirt Lutheran Church in Sunset Hills. She and Martin lived at the Laclede Groves Senior Community since 2004, after many years in their beautiful home on Weber Hill Road in Sunset Hills.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas/Holy Spirt Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or to Lutheran Senior Services, Laclede Groves.

 

Interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks.

 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Doris’s life at St. Thomas-Holy Spirt Lutheran Church, 3980 S. Lindbergh Blvd, June 22, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30, with Memorial Service at 10:30. Lunch will follow.

  1. Our condolences to the family. Doris is my cousin and have many fond memories down on the the Guebert farm when I was a growing up in Red Bud.
