Patricia Compton Knox
Patricia (Pat/Patsy) Compton Knox, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Louis with family at her side on February 7, 2025. She was born on July 23, 1942, to William and Sally Compton in Selma, Alabama. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dan; her three children, Shannon, Kelley, and Chris (Krista); and three cherished grandchildren, Sawyer, Griffin, and Hudson. She is also survived by her brother, Bill; niece, Lynn; and nephews, Hunter and Jud. Pat developed friendships wherever she went and was deeply loved by people across the city, state, country, and world.
A graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and Auburn University, Pat had a passion for lifelong learning. She was an active charter member of South County Baptist Church, serving in various roles throughout the years. Her Southern roots ran deep, and she found great joy in researching her ancestry, belonging to several lineage organizations and patriotic causes. Pat had a love for travel, sports, and musical artists. Her career included work in theater, research and radio, but her most treasured role was that of a devoted wife, mother, and “Gigi” to her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the South County Baptist Church Building Fund (St. Louis, MO) or St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA).
